Context
Climbing takes time and physical effort: a barrier to entry for the large majority of skiers, and a limit on access to summits not served by lifts. For a century, the mountain has been climbed either with effort or with a ticket.

The venture
eSkins develops a patented solution for ski touring and freeride that takes the effort out of the climb and opens up simpler, self-reliant access to routes, huts and valleys with no lift service. The energy of the ascent moves from the lift to a battery, at the skier’s feet.
Product
A motorised clip-on device, universal and removable, that fits any existing ski or splitboard model: it works with the skier’s own boots and bindings, runs from a single button and is managed through a dedicated app. Light and foldable, it goes into the backpack for the descent. Available as Skitour (lightweight) and Freeride (high torque for deep snow).
